Our Programs

Our core programme is a traditional theological curriculum designed for men who are preparing to serve as pastors, Bible teachers, church-planters or missionaries. LMC therefore seeks to provide the student a thorough theological education. To this end we offer training in exegetical, systematic, philosophical, missiological, historical and practical theology. Moreover, LMC has designed its curriculum so that those wishing to pursue degree studies can increase the minimum 86-credit requirement to as much as 107 credits by taking the 3-credit version of certain 2-credit courses as well as electives. The student must complete the program within 5 years from the time of enrolment.

DIVINITY PROGRAM

LMC offers a certificate, Diploma and Bachelor's degree programs in Theology. Students who prove themselves called and capable of undertaking ministry are recommended for internship in several of the Reformed Baptist Churches.

Credit Transfer

Credits may be granted for work done at other institutions after evaluation by the college. The applicant must provide the college with an official transcript from their former institution. He may also need to provide the college with the academic catalogue, course descriptions, and class syllabi for those courses that he wishes to transfer. Students wishing to transfer credits from LMC to other schools are responsible to ascertain the acceptance of credit by the receiving institution.

Distance Learning & Block Class Instruction

Pursuing a theological education while holding a job and caring for a family can be challenging. In order to accommodate students who are managing various responsibilities, LMC courses are also offered in a distance-learning format. Some courses have previously recorded audio (or video) lectures that may be received on request by students who cannot be in class. Students will also find the course syllabus, required textbooks, assignments, grading scales, and other course information on the college's website. Students may work these courses into their own schedules under the oversight of the academic dean and their own pastor(s).

Courses are also offered in a concentrated live block class format at different times during the year. The block classes usually last five days and provide the students with opportunities to interact with the course instructor and fellow students. Some of these block classes are open to non-students and laypersons of both genders to help them increase their knowledge of the word of God. Block class instructions can also be received at Mongu Ministerial College.

Accreditation

Since the primary purpose of LMC is to train men to pastor churches and to provide a flexible theological program that does not require the student to leave his church or job in order to complete studies in residence at the college, we have chosen to pursue international accreditation (we currently have affiliate status) through the Reformed Baptist Seminary (RBS) in the USA, who not only recognize this form of training but also help us to maintain the highest possible academic standards in theological education.
