Biblical Language Studies
BLSI - New Testament Greek I
This is designed to provide a basic introduction to New Testament Greek. Special attention is paid to lexical study (vocabulary and word meanings) and grammatical study (Greek forms and their basic functions) and the exegetical significance of Greek to the understanding and communicating of God's Word.
BLS2 - New Testament Greek II
This course continues the study of grammar, builds vocabulary, and develops techniques for the exposition of the Greek text. Students continue to develop their understanding of syntactical and exegetical elements of New Testament Greek, and mature in their ability to translate and exegete passages from the Greek New Testament.
BLS3 - Old Testament Hebrew
This is an introduction to the language of Biblical Hebrew, including basic grammar, syntax and vocabulary. Emphasis is placed on acquiring a vocabulary, developing various grammatical skills by doing translation exercises.
BLS4 - Old Testament Exegesis
This is a study designed to prepare students to engage in independent exegesis of the text of the Hebrew Bible. It emphasizes the techniques involved in the use of language tools. Attention will be given to a working knowledge of Biblical Hebrew in its various lexical, syntactic, and interpretive issues.
